شُيّد القصر عام 1887 بمنطقة زيزينيا بحي الرمل، الذي كان يُعد من أرقى أحياء الإسكندرية، حيث كان مقرًا لإقامة كبار الشخصيات وأفراد الأسرة العلوية الذين تنافسوا في تشييد القصور والسرايات الفاخرة، ليظل قصر الصفا أحد أبرز هذه التحف المعمارية.

أنشأ القصر الكونت اليوناني إستيفان زيزينيا، أحد كبار تجار القطن في مصر وقنصل بلجيكا آنذاك، ثم اشتراه الأمير محمد علي توفيق عام 1927 وأعاد تطويره ليصبح قصرًا ملكيًا، وأطلق عليه اسم “الصفا” تيمنًا بجبل الصفا المذكور في القرآن الكريم.

ويُستخدم القصر حاليًا لاستقبال ضيوف رئاسة الجمهورية وكبار الوزراء ورجال الدولة أثناء زياراتهم إلى مدينة الإسكندرية.

🏛️ Al-Safa Palace – Alexandria 🇪🇬

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to visit Al-Safa Presidential Palace, one of Egypt’s most magnificent presidential palaces and one of Alexandria’s prominent historical landmarks, through a special visit arranged in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The palace was built in 1887 in the Zizinia area of Al-Raml, which was considered one of the most prestigious districts of Alexandria. It was home to prominent figures and members of the Muhammad Ali Dynasty, who competed in building luxurious palaces and residences, making Al-Safa Palace one of the most remarkable architectural landmarks of its time.

The palace was originally built by Count Estefan Zizinia, a prominent Greek cotton merchant in Egypt and the Belgian Consul at the time. In 1927, Prince Muhammad Ali Tewfik purchased the palace and redeveloped it into a royal palace. He named it “Al-Safa”, inspired by Mount Al-Safa mentioned in the Holy Quran.

Today, the palace is used to host guests of the Presidency of the Republic, senior ministers, and state officials during their visits to Alexandria.
